RACHEL BROOKS

Research and Evaluation Director

Rachel is a social innovation leader with over 20 years of experience working in non-profit, technology, and social enterprise—both in the US and internationally. She began her career in marketing and communications at Adobe Systems, later holding roles Microsoft and LizardTech. She spent six years in Southern and Eastern Africa, working primarily in microfinance and co-founded and led Echo Mobile, a standard in mobile engagement across Sub-Saharan Africa.

As Research and Evaluation Director, Rachel co-designs and leads how we understand the systems and partnerships through which we amplify the impact of our products, services, and insights. She is driven by a commitment to honor and change the experience of families enduring poverty, and to strengthen the autonomy and sustainability of our community partners.

Born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area, Rachel made her home in Seattle alongside her partner and three children. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in History and a Master of Public Administration, both from the University of Washington.
