What is Family-Centered Coaching?
The Family-Centered Coaching (FCC) framework is a holistic approach with a set of strategies, tools, and resources designed to strengthen the way human service providers engage with families and community partners. It shifts the focus of power to the participants themselves, recognizing them as experts in their own lives and including family into the conversation.
This framework is particularly beneficial for organizations that work closely with families facing economic challenges and aims to support them in setting and achieving their own goals within the context of their family unit. FCC is designed to empower human service providers and families, meeting them where they are.
Key Elements of FCC
- Center on Family: Coaches use FCC to bring the strength, motivation, and support of family into the coaching conversation.
- Integrate Case Management: FCC integrates case management into a fluid practice of service that centers on a coaching mindset.
- Bake in Equity: FCC recognizes that equity is integral to the process of coaching as well as a necessary outcome to work towards.
FCC Cohort Intensive Program
This training program includes our courses “FCC Mindset” and “FCC Toolkit”. It is a fast track of our program for teams of 8 or fewer members with easy-to-implement case management approaches without replacing them.
